What does it mean to Be Renewed by God?

When you look at the definition of the word renewed, it means re-established or revived.The moment we make the decision to truly accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and seeking God more, we become new. There is a shift that occurs in our lives. We become a different person that God restores completely from past sins, shame, disappointments and failures. We begin to see and understand life a better way. It is the same thing as going from darkness to light. If we are looking into God's word, in 2 Corinthians 5:17, it says: "Therefore, if any man be in Christ; he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new". When choosing to live like Christ, our minds and heart change completely. For instance, You begin to change Certain actions or habits you used to do before that did not glorify God. I am sure that you have heard several testimonies of how God can change someone's life completely

There are three amazing things that happen when you truly accept God into your life.

1- Salvation:

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and come to repentance, meaning turning away from your sinful ways and turning towards God, we receive the promise of eternal life.

2- True Identity:

Identity is something that all of us are seeking after and without knowing Jesus Christ, it is easy to let society and culture define it. However, there is a complete renewal of your mind and heart when you are truly seeking God and his righteousness, therefore you begin to know your true identity in him and who he truly calls you to be.

3- Clarity on your Purpose:

Have you ever asked yourself "What is my calling?" or "what is my purpose?". Well, although it is still a process to discover that when you are already in christ, but you get a better idea of what you are supposed to do the more you pray about it. It is easier to know your purpose when you are seeking God, simply because he is the one who assigns it to you. You can turn towards him whenever you have doubts in this area.
