Do you sometimes struggle with knowing your worth? Do you wrestle with low self-esteem?

As I was writing this blog, it lead me to pause and to think about the true meaning of the word “worth.” Before writing this blog I thought the words “worth” and “value” had the same meaning. Through my research I found out that these two words, although they might sound similar to some people, they have different meanings. The “value” of something can fluctuate over time. Whereas, the “worth” of something does not change. How amazing is that? The God of the universe, the one who created the Heaven and the Earth calls you worthy.
If you are wrestling with knowing you worth today. I am here to tell you that you worth is not rooted in the amount of money you have, in what you have done in the past or what you will do. Neither is it rooted in what society, your family, or a friend might have call you. It is rooted in something much deeper than someone’s opinion of you. It is rooted in the unwavering opinion of the almighty God. And what does God calls us?
He calls us beautiful, chosen, accepted, and worthy in his sight. And his love for us is much more than we could ever feel or imagined. And he has a plan for your life.
Sometimes we lose confidence because of unavoidable circumstances such as not achieving what we want or failing to succeed in something we have worked hard for. Which creates low self-esteem and low self-worth in us in the process. When you are at your lowest, I encourage you to remember that you are already worthy and valuable in the sight of God. And that your worth is not determine by the amount of success you have in this world. Your worth is in the cross. Seek first the Kingdom of God and everything else will be added.
Therefore, I encourage you to stand strong in knowing that you are and always have been fully loved, accepted, and known by an amazing God.
Here are a few tips to help you in your journey to knowing your worth:
1- Read the word of God. It is only by reading the word that you will be able to see what God says and feel about you. While doing so remember to highlight the verses that speaks to you regarding Self-worth.
2- I encourage you to seek God through prayer. Jeremiah 29:13 says “You will seek me and find me when you search me with all your heart.”It is only through prayer that you can feel and hear what God has to say about you.
3- I encourage you to get a journal and write your thoughts to God. Write to him as if you are writing to your father, and your best friend. Surrender all your burdens and worries to him because he cares for you.
Be encouraged today!
